Sayeed’s notes: This rug, also known as Khorgen, is a rendition of a design found on a saddlebag. Is one of the most popular on the market today. It’s warm, happy, bright colors bring life to family rooms, dens and libraries. Applicable in rustic to informal settings.
Kazak rugs are characterized by their contrasting colors and larger patterns. Kazak or Kazakh Rugs originated in the Caucasus. Due to the name resemblance, most of the people do associate this art with Kazakhstan, but it’s not true. The Kazak Rugs are associated with the geographical areas where they are made, including Armenia, Turkey and Georgia. While they are considered a tribal rug, they are not associated with any particular tribe. These are hand-knotted, and are usually made by the women of the Caucasus Community.
